Why a new wing, when many others already exist?
Whether for a “pure-sailer" needing decent upwind capabilities,
or for a “motor-sailer", where motoring often makes the apparent wind angle close hauled,
a high Lift / Drag ratio is crucial.
Nevertheless a high maximum Lift Coefficient is also required to fully harness the wind energy.
And for a ”pure-sailer", transversal equilibrium is a limiting factor,
hence the need to keep the weight, the center of gravity and the center of pressure as low as possible.
The "A" wing project aims to bring together all these constraints, leading to a new wing typology.
